You understand the importance of a seamless developer experience and have a track record of leading initiatives that enhance efficiency and quality in software delivery.
With a solid understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies, you are adept at evaluating and implementing tools that streamline workflows — your technical expertise allows you to guide teams in adopting best practices and modern development techniques. You are also skilled in change management, ensuring that transitions are smooth and well-communicated across teams.
You possess excellent collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and platform teams — your ability to advocate for engineering excellence makes you a thought leader in your organization. You are committed to maintaining comprehensive documentation and providing onboarding support for new tools and processes, ensuring that all team members are equipped to succeed.
Desirable
Experience with metrics tracking and analysis, particularly in developer productivity measures, is a plus — you understand how to leverage data to drive improvements and demonstrate the impact of your initiatives. Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in mentoring or coaching other engineers can further enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead initiatives aimed at reducing cognitive load for developers and accelerating their delivery capabilities — you will collaborate closely with engineers to identify productivity challenges and proactively address them. Your responsibilities will include defining requirements for technical initiatives, overseeing their implementation, and ensuring successful execution.
You will evaluate and implement tools for source control, CI/CD, local development, and workflow automation — your insights will help shape the productivity strategy of the engineering team. Working with architecture and development teams, you will define and evolve golden paths and reference architectures that streamline development workflows.
Tracking developer productivity metrics will be a key part of your role — you will utilize frameworks like DORA to measure success and identify areas for improvement. Your efforts will help embed DevOps and platform engineering best practices across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
As a thought leader, you will advocate for modern development practices and engineering excellence — your influence will extend beyond your immediate team as you share knowledge and best practices across the organization. You will also maintain documentation and provide onboarding support for tooling and processes, ensuring that all developers have the resources they need to thrive.
