Overview
Waabi is hiring a Research Engineer for their Learnable Planner team to integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into their self-driving technology stack. You'll work with machine learning models and simulation environments. This position requires experience in deploying ML/DL models in production settings.
Job Description
Who you are
You have experience deploying ML/DL models to a production motion planning or related robotics stack — you've successfully integrated models into complex systems and understand the nuances of real-time applications. Your strong grasp of machine learning literature includes current trends and state-of-the-art techniques, allowing you to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving field.
You are comfortable with model compilation and exporting, and have hands-on experience with lower-level concepts like TensorRT and CUDA kernels — this technical expertise enables you to optimize models for performance and efficiency. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with motion planning sub-teams and research scientists to enhance planner architecture and develop innovative solutions.
What you'll do
As a Research Engineer at Waabi, you will support the integration of new AI technologies into our autonomy/planner stack, enabling the launch of fully driverless autonomous trucks. You will be responsible for developing necessary interfaces and pipelines in simulation for testing prototype or production planning models, ensuring that our systems are robust and reliable.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our planner architecture, contributing to Waabi's vision of a single AI system that learns end-to-end in a provably safe manner. Your role will involve integrating cutting-edge ML models into our production planning stack, from development to validation, deployment, and monitoring. You will also engage in iterative model evaluation, introspection, and fine-tuning to enhance performance and accuracy.
What we offer
At Waabi, you will be part of a world-class team dedicated to revolutionizing self-driving technology. We offer a dynamic work environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of autonomous vehicles. Join us in our mission to bring the promise of self-driving closer to commercialization, and be part of a company that values diversity, collaboration, and creativity.
