Overview

Waabi is hiring a Senior / Staff Graphics Software Engineer for Sensor Simulation to develop multi-sensor rendering software for autonomous driving. You'll work with technologies like CUDA, OpenCL, and Vulkan, and require experience in Python and deep learning frameworks.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in graphics software engineering, with experience in developing rendering technologies for complex systems. Your expertise includes working with multi-sensor simulations, particularly in the context of autonomous driving. You are familiar with advanced rendering techniques such as neural rendering and generative models, and you have a solid understanding of computer vision principles. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to push the boundaries of technology.

You possess hands-on experience with programming languages and frameworks relevant to graphics and simulation, including CUDA, OpenCL, and Vulkan. Your familiarity with Python and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow enables you to integrate machine learning techniques into your rendering solutions. You are passionate about creating high-impact, innovative software that enhances the realism and diversity of sensor simulations.

What you'll do

As a Senior / Staff Graphics Software Engineer at Waabi, you will design and implement core rendering technology for simulating cameras, LiDARs, and RADARs. You will leverage your expertise in traditional real-time rendering combined with cutting-edge techniques such as 3D Gaussian Splatting and neural rendering to create a robust simulation stack. Your role will involve collaborating closely with Waabi’s autonomy and safety teams to ensure that the simulations are both realistic and diverse, contributing to the advancement of self-driving technology.

You will be responsible for developing and optimizing compute pipelines that enhance the performance of the rendering software. This includes working with accelerated raytracing technologies such as Nvidia OptiX and Vulkan Raytracing. You will also engage in rigorous experimental validation of your ideas, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet the high standards required for autonomous driving applications.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in cloud computing environments, launching and debugging GPU jobs to support your simulation efforts. Your contributions will directly impact the commercialization of self-driving technology, making a significant difference in how autonomous systems perceive and interact with the world.
