What you'll do
As a Staff AI Engineer at Waymo, you will lead the development of perception systems that enhance the Waymo Driver's ability to understand its surroundings — your work will involve designing and implementing algorithms that process data from a variety of sensors, enabling the vehicle to make informed decisions in real-time. You will collaborate with research teams to address complex challenges in scene understanding, leveraging millions of miles of driving data to refine and optimize your models.
You will also be responsible for conducting research to push the boundaries of what is possible in autonomous perception — this includes developing new methods for learning from large-scale data and analyzing real-world behavior to improve system robustness. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving technology, making a significant difference in how people experience mobility.
