Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in AI and machine learning, particularly in developing perception systems for autonomous vehicles. Your expertise in Python and computer vision allows you to create robust models that interpret complex real-world environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate perception systems into larger autonomous driving frameworks.
Your background includes hands-on experience with large-scale data processing and model optimization, enabling you to efficiently learn from vast amounts of driving data. You are familiar with the challenges of real-world data and have a proven track record of developing solutions that enhance the performance of perception algorithms.
You possess strong analytical skills and can translate complex data into actionable insights. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you an effective collaborator in a multidisciplinary environment. You are passionate about advancing autonomous driving technology and are eager to contribute to a mission that prioritizes safety and mobility.
Desirable
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus. Familiarity with sensor technologies and their integration into autonomous systems will enhance your candidacy. A background in robotics or related fields can also be beneficial.
What you'll do
As a Senior Staff TLM in the Perception team, you will lead the development of sensor pipelines that enable the Waymo Driver to understand its environment. You will work on creating algorithms that process data from various sensors, ensuring that the vehicle can navigate safely and efficiently. Your role will involve collaborating with research teams to address real-world challenges and improve the accuracy of perception systems.
You will be responsible for optimizing models for both onboard and offboard hardware, ensuring that they perform well in real-time scenarios. Your work will directly impact the Waymo Driver's ability to make informed decisions while driving autonomously. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their growth within the team.
What we offer
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $281,000—$356,000 USD, along with participation in an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
