Who you are
You have a strong background in AI research, with at least 5 years of experience in developing machine learning models and algorithms. Your expertise in Python allows you to efficiently implement complex algorithms and data processing techniques. You are familiar with TensorFlow and PyTorch, having used these frameworks to build and optimize models for real-world applications. Your understanding of perception systems and their integration into autonomous driving technology sets you apart. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to address real-world challenges in autonomous driving. You are passionate about leveraging large-scale data to improve model performance and are eager to contribute to innovative solutions in the field.
Desirable
Experience with large-scale data processing and optimization techniques is a plus. Familiarity with autonomous systems and their operational challenges will enhance your contributions to the team. A background in research collaboration, particularly with academic institutions or industry partners, is highly valued.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead efforts to develop and optimize perception systems that enable the Waymo Driver to understand its environment. You will work with vast amounts of driving data to create models that learn from real-world scenarios, continuously improving their accuracy and reliability. Your responsibilities will include conducting research to address complex challenges in perception and collaborating with downstream teams to integrate your solutions into the Waymo Driver. You will analyze real-world behavior and develop systems that handle the complexities of interacting with dynamic environments. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the team by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
What we offer
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $281,000—$356,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
