Who you are
You have a Bachelorβs degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Your expertise lies in C++ and large-scale data processing, and you are willing to take ownership of problems end-to-end, diving into new and complex domains while working on various parts of the system. You have a passion for good software engineering and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Desirable
Hands-on experience working with geographical data is preferred, as it will enhance your ability to contribute to the mapping tools and systems at Waymo.
What you'll do
As a Backend Engineer on the Mapping Tools team, you will help build and evolve mission-critical labeling tools and systems that power mapping at Waymo. You will collaborate closely with Mapping Operations, UX, and other engineering teams to deliver excellent tools for internal use. Your role will involve working with machine learning teams to integrate models into the workflow, drastically improving scalability and efficiency. You will be responsible for developing infrastructure to store, process, and distribute high-resolution maps that support safe autonomous driving. Your contributions will directly impact the Waymo Driver's ability to navigate and operate safely in various environments.
