Waymo is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to develop mission-critical labeling tools and systems for mapping. You'll work with Java, Kotlin, Go, and front-end technologies like TypeScript and React. This role requires a strong background in software engineering and experience with geographical data.

Who you are

You have a solid background in full stack development, with hands-on experience in Java, Kotlin, and Go. Your front-end skills include proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, allowing you to create seamless user experiences. You are comfortable owning problems end-to-end, diving into complex domains, and working on various parts of the system. Your passion for good software engineering drives you to build robust and scalable applications. You have experience working with Angular and/or React, and you understand the nuances of integrating machine learning models into workflows. Additionally, you have a keen interest in geographical data and its applications in mapping technologies.

Desirable

Experience with geographical data is a plus, as it will enhance your contributions to the mapping tools you will be developing. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their integration into software systems will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Full Stack Engineer at Waymo, you will help build and evolve mission-critical labeling tools and systems that power mapping operations. You will collaborate closely with Mapping Operations, UX, and other engineering teams to deliver excellent tools for internal use. Your role will involve working with machine learning teams to integrate models into workflows, drastically improving scalability and efficiency. You will be responsible for developing both front-end and back-end components, ensuring that the systems you create are user-friendly and efficient. Your work will directly impact the quality and accuracy of the maps that support Waymo's autonomous driving technology. You will also engage with stakeholders across product, UX, mapping operations, and engineering to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring that the tools you develop meet the needs of various teams.
