You have strong development proficiency in C++, Python, or Angular — you've built full stack products and are eager to expand your expertise across both backend and frontend technologies. Your experience includes working on complex systems that require cross-team collaboration, and you possess excellent technical leadership and communication skills. You thrive in a distributed organization and have a knack for solving real-world problems, such as demand planning and fleet optimization.
You are someone who is product-minded and understands the importance of delivering business-critical infrastructure. Your background includes experience in autonomous systems or related fields, and you are comfortable navigating the challenges that come with developing innovative solutions in a fast-evolving industry. You have a passion for technology and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the world of transportation.
Desirable
You have previous management experience and have worked with US teams, which has equipped you with the skills to lead projects effectively. Experience developing products that utilize large language models (LLM) is a plus, as it aligns with the cutting-edge technologies that Waymo is exploring.
What you'll do
In this role, you will help build and evolve one or more mission-critical commercialization tools and systems that support Waymo's core ride-hailing and fleet management systems. You will tackle hard, real-world problems that require innovative solutions and cross-functional collaboration with teams across operations, product, legal, partnerships, and policy & privacy. Your work will directly contribute to improving access to mobility and enhancing the safety of transportation.
You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring that the systems you build are robust, scalable, and efficient. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to define requirements, architecting solutions, and implementing features that enhance the user experience. You will also be involved in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
