Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning, particularly in computer vision and multimodal models — you've developed and trained advanced models that extract rich semantic information from complex datasets. Your expertise in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch allows you to implement scalable solutions that drive innovation in autonomous driving technology.
You possess a strong understanding of deep learning principles and generative AI techniques — you've successfully applied these skills to real-world problems, enhancing the performance of AI systems. Your experience with large foundation models, such as Gemini, equips you to integrate cutting-edge technologies into existing frameworks.
You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a hybrid work environment — you enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and drive projects forward. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with offboard perception autolabels and data engines is a plus — you understand the importance of high-fidelity data in training and validating autonomous vehicle systems. Familiarity with autonomous driving technologies and their applications will give you an edge in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop and train state-of-the-art computer vision and multimodal models to enhance the Waymo Driver's capabilities — your work will directly contribute to improving the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving. You will design and implement a scalable AI agent framework that integrates large foundation models, ensuring that the AI agent can process and analyze driving logs effectively.
You will collaborate with a team of advanced ML and engineering professionals, leveraging state-of-the-art techniques to automatically analyze driving data and generate rich scene understanding. Your contributions will help power the data engine that enables Waymo to scale its autonomous services safely and efficiently.
You will also be responsible for conducting experiments to validate model performance and iterating on designs based on feedback and results — your analytical mindset will be crucial in refining models and ensuring they meet the high standards required for autonomous driving applications.

Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
