Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in system testing, particularly in the context of autonomous systems — you've developed and executed test strategies that ensure high performance and safety standards in complex environments. Your expertise in Python and C++ allows you to design and implement robust test plans and automated testing frameworks that can handle edge cases effectively.
You are familiar with Linux environments and have a solid understanding of machine learning principles — your background enables you to create simulated scenarios that accurately reflect real-world conditions, ensuring that the Waymo Driver performs optimally under various circumstances. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive results and maintain high standards of quality.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop innovative test strategies and methodologies to support the rapid scaling of autonomous vehicle technology — your work will focus on designing metrics and test plans that validate the performance of the Waymo Driver in off-nominal situations. You will implement simulated scenarios that test the vehicle's response to faults and remote assistance needs, ensuring that our systems are reliable and safe.
You will collaborate with engineers and technical leads to refine testing processes and improve overall system performance — your insights will help shape the future of autonomous driving technology. What we offer
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $196,000—$248,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
