What you'll do

In this role, you will utilize your expertise in perception systems to propose and validate requirements that align with Waymo's safety and business targets. You will lead the qualification of perception software systems, ensuring they meet the high performance standards set by the Systems Engineering team. Your responsibilities will include driving consensus on requirements across software and hardware teams, facilitating discussions that bridge the gap between different engineering disciplines. You will develop reusable analysis frameworks that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the qualification process. Additionally, you will participate in testing and validation efforts, contributing to the overall safety and reliability of the Waymo Driver.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers, sharing insights and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your role will also involve analyzing data from tests and simulations to inform decision-making and refine system requirements. As part of a dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of perception systems and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in autonomous driving technology.
