You have a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in perception systems, with a focus on statistical and risk-based analysis. Your experience includes leading software qualification processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive consensus on requirements. You are adept at developing high-quality analysis and understand the importance of safety and performance in autonomous driving technology. You thrive in a team environment and are passionate about achieving results that contribute to the mission of improving mobility and safety. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with autonomous systems or robotics is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning principles. A background in software development, particularly in C++ and Python, will help you excel in this role. What you'll do
In this role, you will utilize your expertise in perception systems to propose and validate requirements that align with Waymo's safety and business targets. You will lead the qualification of perception software systems, ensuring they meet the high performance standards set by the Systems Engineering team. Your responsibilities will include driving consensus on requirements across software and hardware teams, facilitating discussions that bridge the gap between different engineering disciplines. You will develop reusable analysis frameworks that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the qualification process. Additionally, you will participate in testing and validation efforts, contributing to the overall safety and reliability of the Waymo Driver.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers, sharing insights and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your role will also involve analyzing data from tests and simulations to inform decision-making and refine system requirements. What we offer
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $196,000—$248,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
