Who you are
You hold a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have a strong background in building, integrating, debugging, and evaluating ML-based systems, showcasing your ability to work with complex technologies. Your expertise in Python for data analysis is complemented by your strong experience with SQL and handling large datasets. You thrive in environments where inputs can be noisy, uncertain, or incomplete, and you are passionate about ensuring the safety and reliability of autonomous systems.
Desirable
Experience with traditional robotics and modern ML techniques is a plus, as is familiarity with the challenges of autonomous driving technology. You are eager to work on bleeding-edge projects that push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of vehicle dynamics.
What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate with a creative team responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable behavior of Waymo's autonomous vehicles. You will design and deploy algorithms that measure the performance of state-of-the-art technology, adapting to various weather conditions and urban environments. Your work will directly contribute to the Waymo Driver, which has already completed over ten million rider-only trips. You will engage in hands-on development, integrating your algorithms into the vehicle systems and testing them in real-world scenarios.
You will also be involved in evaluating the performance of these systems, ensuring they meet the high standards required for safety and comfort. Your role will require you to analyze data from extensive driving experiences, leveraging your skills in Python and SQL to derive insights that inform future improvements. What we offer
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
