Who you are

You are an experienced language professional with a strong understanding of Japanese (Japan) language nuances. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality translations. Your background may include experience in translation, editing, or quality assurance in language services. You are familiar with machine translation technologies and understand the importance of accuracy and natural language in customer service content.

You possess the ability to evaluate machine-translated output quality and apply severity ratings as required. You are comfortable following project guidelines and style guides, ensuring that all content aligns with the expected tone and terminology. Your analytical skills allow you to identify recurring quality issues and trends in machine translation outputs, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

What you'll do

In this role, you will edit and review machine-translated customer service content, ensuring a high level of accuracy and consistency. You will evaluate the quality of machine translation outputs and apply severity ratings when necessary, following established project guidelines. Your work will involve producing high-quality human translations that serve as reference data for model training and quality evaluation. You will also identify and report any recurring quality issues and trends, helping to enhance the overall quality of the machine translation process.

This position requires you to work on an ad hoc basis, with tasks assigned throughout the year based on client needs. You will need to be flexible with your availability as volumes and timing may vary. The role offers an hourly rate of $30.75, reflecting the value of your expertise in language quality evaluation.
