Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in embedded systems, and a strong background in mixed-signal design. Your expertise in digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals allows you to tackle complex signal-chain performance challenges, ensuring high fidelity and low latency in product designs. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software engineers, to translate system-level requirements into robust hardware solutions. Your ability to define requirements and influence architectural choices makes you a key technical lead in hardware development.

You thrive in environments that require rigorous attention to detail and a disciplined approach to hardware and firmware co-design. Your experience with data-driven debugging equips you to effectively troubleshoot and optimize system performance. You are passionate about human performance technology and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to products that enhance health and well-being.

What you'll do

As a Staff Electrical Engineer at WHOOP, you will lead the architecture and design of complex embedded systems that integrate multiple sensing modalities and wireless connectivity. You will be responsible for ensuring that the signal acquisition and transduction subsystems meet stringent performance criteria, including dynamic range and timing synchronization. Your role will involve close collaboration with various teams to ensure that hardware designs are production-ready and meet the needs of our users.

You will define and influence the architecture choices for our products, ensuring that they align with WHOOP's mission to unlock human performance. Your technical leadership will guide the team through the bring-up, tuning, and validation phases of product development. You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge of DSP and mixed-signal design principles to foster their growth.

What we offer

At WHOOP, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to improving health and performance through innovative technology. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact our products and the lives of our members. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced and supportive atmosphere.
