Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering with a focus on hardware design and development — your experience includes leading teams in the creation of innovative wearable technology. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about building elegant, miniaturized hardware at scale. Your hands-on approach allows you to influence architecture across various domains, ensuring that the products you help create are not only functional but also user-friendly.
You possess deep knowledge of embedded systems and have experience with tools like Altium Designer and Arduino — your technical skills enable you to guide the design of critical subsystems that define how products are worn and experienced. You are comfortable managing high-visibility projects and have a track record of executing new product introductions (NPI) successfully.
What you'll do
As a Staff Electrical Engineering Tech Lead, you will take a tactical leadership role within the WHOOP Hardware team — your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development of the next generation of WHOOP's wearable platform. You will be the go-to electrical leader, guiding the design and implementation of critical hardware components that enhance user experience and product scalability.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and product managers, to ensure that the hardware integrates seamlessly with software solutions. Your role will involve influencing architectural decisions and providing technical guidance to your team, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within your team. You will also be involved in strategic planning and decision-making processes, contributing to the overall vision and direction of WHOOP's hardware initiatives.
