Who you are
You have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, and you bring over 5 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing environments, particularly in 3D printing. Your expertise allows you to evaluate the manufacturability of customer designs effectively, ensuring that you can recommend the best solutions utilizing Xometry's extensive portfolio of 3D printing technologies and materials. You are comfortable interfacing with customers and internal teams, demonstrating strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Your background includes working across various industries, including general machine building, commercial, automotive, industrial, and medical devices. You understand the nuances of each sector and can tailor your approach to meet diverse customer needs. You thrive in environments where you can leverage your technical knowledge to solve complex problems and drive customer success.
What you'll do
As a DFM Engineer at Xometry, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with customer requirements. Once an order is placed, you will aid production in troubleshooting order execution, ensuring that customer expectations are met. Your role will involve direct interaction with 3D printing shops, internal staff members, and management, as well as customers, to facilitate smooth operations and successful project outcomes.
You will also take on special projects aimed at expanding the capabilities of our manufacturing partner network. This includes collaborating with OEM equipment makers and our internal team of experts to enhance our core competencies. Your ability to evaluate designs and recommend appropriate manufacturing solutions will be critical in driving the success of our projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
