Mechanical Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in structural design. Your organizational skills are excellent, and you have a strong aptitude for learning various engineering codes and standards such as ASCE 7 and ASME Section VIII Division 1. You are detail-oriented and have a keen ability to identify areas of waste and inefficiency, taking action to improve these areas. You are also comfortable communicating technical information clearly and concisely to colleagues and stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing various pieces of combustion equipment, including pressure vessels, steel stacks, derrick structures, and piping systems. You will complete and check structural calculations for a variety of equipment and work within an engineering team to provide technical support for structural-related items. Your role will involve occasional travel to domestic and international locations for meetings or job site visits, where you will give technical presentations on various structural subjects. You will act as a technical liaison with colleagues in the US and globally, ensuring that structural designs are made with materials that can be readily purchased on the market. Additionally, you will collaborate with drafting and manufacturing teams to provide designs that can be easily fabricated, and assist Applications Engineers with structural topics for ongoing quotes.
