Design Drafter • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have 5+ years of drafting and design experience, particularly with AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant 3D, and Autodesk Inventor. Your background includes creating piping specifications and fabrication drawings, and you are comfortable modeling piping and structural steel in a 3D environment. You possess an Associate's Degree in Drafting or an equivalent combination of experience and certification, and you are familiar with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Code for Pressure Piping. You have a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in your work and the ability to review vendor drawings effectively.

You are proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel, and you are comfortable with web-based systems for design completion. Your experience includes creating and maintaining specification catalogs and piping specs, as well as creating piping isometrics and steel fabrication drawings. You are capable of handling customer mark-up prints and providing guidance for production equipment.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and designing in the Vapor Control group at Zeeco. You will focus on retrofitting existing systems and may also work on new construction projects. Utilizing Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD Mechanical, you will create piping specifications, Smart P&IDs, and Smart 3D models linked to Bill of Materials. You will also create fabrication drawings from base files and assemblies, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and codes.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and support groups, contributing to a robust work environment that fosters growth and development. Your responsibilities will include reviewing customer mark-up prints, interfacing with shop personnel, and conducting site visits as necessary to assist with design changes. You will check your own drawings and those of other drafters for accuracy, ensuring that all work meets Zeeco's high standards.
