Devops Engineer • Lead

Who you are

You have extensive experience in infrastructure development and a deep understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms. Your expertise in DevOps principles and agile methodologies allows you to lead infrastructure and operations effectively. You are skilled in designing and building enterprise-level hosting platforms and managing application servers, web servers, and databases seamlessly.

You possess a strong grasp of infrastructure automation and application hosting technologies, enabling you to implement innovative solutions that meet challenging business objectives. Your experience with scripting languages and building Linux and/or Windows server systems is essential for this role. You are familiar with continuous integration tools and have worked with various technology stacks, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.

You enjoy collaborating with team members across the organization and have a knack for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Your ability to build strong, flexible, and relevant solutions helps transform businesses and industries. You thrive in environments where you can interact with infrastructure technicians, support analysts, security analysts, and IT managers to design effective technical strategies.

Desirable

Experience with unit testing and automated testing tools is a plus, as is familiarity with observability patterns and monitoring systems for performance testing. Your innovative mindset allows you to propose solutions that adapt to current constraints and business strategy adjustments.

What you'll do

In this role, you will initiate projects through practical implementation, assessing and driving improvements in existing infrastructure. You will listen to client needs and develop technical roadmaps and effective solutions to support their challenging business goals. Collaborating with business development, marketing, and functional development teams, you will help shape and build the cloud and infrastructure practices at Thoughtworks.

You will ensure and establish controls and processes for continuous delivery of applications, considering all stages of the process and their automation. Monitoring and ensuring that technical expectations are consistently met on projects will be a key responsibility. You will act as a thought leader in DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure engineering both on client sites and at Thoughtworks, building trust and thoughtful partnerships with clients' CIOs, CTOs, and relevant teams.

Your role will involve proposing innovative solutions to current limitations and business strategy adjustments, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of technology and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in helping clients adopt a DevOps mindset, moving away from rigid, traditional ways of working towards a customer-centric agile approach.
