You have extensive experience in internal audit, particularly within the banking or financial services sector — your background equips you to establish a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit program that aligns with regulatory requirements. You possess strong technical audit expertise combined with practical insight into lending-sponsor banks, enabling you to build a best-in-class audit program from inception. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with various functional areas, including Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Finance, ensuring robust audit coverage and continuous improvement.

You are adept at developing audit charters, policies, procedures, and methodologies that ensure compliance with FDIC and state regulatory expectations. Your leadership skills enable you to guide teams through the complexities of internal audits, fostering an environment of transparency and accountability. You understand the importance of governance and risk management, and you are committed to providing independent assurance to the Board of Directors and senior management regarding the effectiveness of internal controls.

What you'll do

As the Director of Internal Audit, you will oversee the design and execution of a risk-based internal audit program for Affirm Bank. You will report directly to the Bank’s Audit Committee and serve as a critical member of the Bank's leadership team. Your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a comprehensive internal audit program that aligns with the Bank’s strategy and regulatory requirements. You will develop the audit charter, policies, procedures, and methodology to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

You will collaborate with all functional areas to ensure robust audit coverage and transparency. This role requires you to evolve the audit infrastructure during the de novo phase and post-launch, aligning it with regulatory expectations for the Bank’s deposits and lending sponsorship businesses. You will lead the internal audit team, providing guidance and support to ensure that audits are conducted effectively and efficiently.
