What you'll do

As the Data Center Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all critical systems within the data center are functioning optimally — this includes overseeing the maintenance and operation of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. You will lead a team of Engineering Operations Technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Your role will involve conducting regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify potential issues before they become critical — you will implement corrective actions and coordinate emergency responses as necessary. You will also serve as a technical resource for your team, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with various teams within AWS to ensure that all operational needs are met — your ability to communicate effectively will be essential in building strong relationships with stakeholders. You will also be involved in the planning and execution of projects aimed at enhancing the data center's infrastructure and operational capabilities.
