What you'll do
As the Data Center Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of Amazon Web Services' physical infrastructure — your responsibilities will include overseeing the operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. You will ensure that all systems are functioning optimally, conducting planned preventative maintenance and addressing any corrective work that arises.
You will be responsible for emergency response, acting swiftly to resolve any issues that could impact operations — your expertise will guide the Engineering Operations Technicians in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems. You will also collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure that all equipment is maintained according to industry standards.
In this role, you will serve as an expert technical resource, providing guidance and support to your team — your leadership will foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the data center. You will work closely with AWS Infrastructure Services, contributing to the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of AWS services, ensuring that customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on — you will be at the forefront of solving complex problems and implementing solutions that enhance operational performance.
