Who you are
You have a strong background in compliance management, particularly within the Electrical and Appliances sectors, with a deep understanding of global and local regulatory standards such as BIS, QCO, WPC, CPSIA, RoHS, REACH, FCC, and CE. Your experience includes translating complex regulatory requirements into clear product specifications, allowing you to build effective compliance frameworks for new product categories. You are proactive in identifying regulatory risks early in the development cycle and have a proven track record of driving timely mitigation strategies with stakeholders.
You excel in cross-functional collaboration, partnering closely with Product, Sourcing, and Quality teams to embed compliance into PRFAQs, technical specifications, and supplier onboarding processes. Your ability to define testing protocols and coordinate with accredited labs ensures that all products meet necessary compliance standards. You are detail-oriented, conducting thorough pre-launch audits to guarantee complete and accurate documentation and on-time certifications.
Your leadership skills shine through as you drive escalations related to failures or non-conformities, leading continuous improvement initiatives that enhance compliance workflows. You are adept at building scalable mechanisms for documentation and certification tracking, ensuring that compliance performance metrics are reported accurately to enable predictable, defect-free product launches. You are committed to fostering a culture of compliance and quality within your team and the broader organization.
Desirable
Experience with compliance in e-commerce or retail environments is a plus, as is familiarity with compliance management software and tools. A background in engineering or product development can enhance your ability to interpret technical specifications and regulatory requirements effectively.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the compliance readiness for Electrical and Appliances product categories at Amazon. You will interpret global and local regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable product requirements, ensuring that all products meet the necessary standards before launch. You will build compliance requirement frameworks for new product categories or expansion programs, identifying regulatory risks early in the development cycle and driving mitigation mechanisms with stakeholders.
You will partner with Product Managers, Sourcing, and Quality teams to embed compliance into product development processes, ensuring that compliance considerations are integrated from the outset. Your responsibilities will include defining testing protocols, coordinating with accredited labs, and evaluating supplier capabilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Conducting pre-launch audits will be a key part of your role, as you ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate, and that certifications are obtained on time. You will drive escalations related to compliance failures or non-conformities, leading initiatives for continuous improvement in compliance workflows.
You will also build scalable mechanisms for documentation and certification tracking, enhancing compliance processes with technology teams. Reporting key compliance performance metrics will be essential to enable predictable, defect-free launches, and you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that compliance remains a priority throughout the product lifecycle.
