Who you are
You are an entry-level technician with a keen interest in data center operations and infrastructure. You have a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and you are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You thrive in team settings and are ready to collaborate with front-line responders to ensure the smooth operation of data centers. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of reliability and safety in your work. You understand the importance of following protocols and procedures to support the operational goals of the team. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and practices that enhance operational efficiency.
What you'll do
In this role, you will conduct daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, ensuring 24/7 reliability and availability. You will monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) to ensure optimal performance. You will assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events, working within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA) to resolve issues promptly. Your responsibilities will include performing rack installs and decommissioning, as well as conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. You will engage in technical writing to support the change management program and monitor daily work requests, managing them to resolution. Your role is crucial in maintaining the operational integrity of Amazon's data centers, contributing to the overall success of the Engineering Operations team.
