Who you are
You have a strong background in development management and operations expertise, with at least 5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams. You are passionate about building high-availability services and have a deep understanding of AWS technologies. Your leadership style emphasizes collaboration and efficiency, ensuring that your teams deliver exceptional results for customers.
You possess a solid technical foundation in utility computing and are familiar with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock. You have a proven track record of managing teams in both systems operations and development, with a focus on automation and engineering efficiency. Your ability to influence and collaborate with global teams is a key strength that drives your success in this role.
What you'll do
As the Systems Development Manager, you will spearhead the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, working closely with AWS global teams to influence the evolution of AWS services and technology. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development and operations teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services exclusively for EU customers. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing day-to-day operations, ensuring improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.
You will collaborate with technology leaders to drive the development of scalable services that meet the needs of EU customers. Your role will involve managing teams, emphasizing automation, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. You will be responsible for setting strategic goals for your teams and ensuring alignment with AWS' commitment to delivering the best results for customers.
