Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in spacecraft design and thermal analysis, with experience producing high-quality thermal evaluations and recommendations for vehicle architects and subsystem leads. Your technical, research, and analytical capabilities enable you to deliver results efficiently and effectively. You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, meeting the export control requirements for this role.
You possess the ability to conduct extensive architectural trades with preliminary thermal analysis on spacecraft and subsystems, ensuring optimal performance under orbital operational conditions. Your experience includes performing detailed analysis of Bus and Payload subsystems, components, and mechanisms, allowing you to contribute significantly to the design process.
You are skilled in developing automated scripts that facilitate rapid analysis updates, accommodating various trades such as power states and duty cycles. Your expertise in selecting and designing heat pipes for bus and payload components is crucial for the success of the projects you work on.
Desirable
Experience with advanced thermal analysis tools and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with satellite systems and their operational requirements. A background in programming or scripting languages will enhance your ability to automate processes and improve efficiency in your work.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the architectural trades by conducting preliminary thermal analysis on spacecraft and subsystems, ensuring they meet the necessary operational conditions. You will perform both conceptual and detailed analyses of Bus and Payload subsystems, components, and mechanisms, contributing to the overall design and functionality of the satellite systems.
You will develop automated scripts that enable rapid updates to thermal analysis, accommodating various operational scenarios and trade-offs. Your work will involve designing and selecting heat pipes for bus and payload components, ensuring effective thermal management throughout the satellite's lifecycle.
Collaboration with vehicle architects and subsystem leads will be essential as you provide thermal-related input and recommendations.
