Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess academic experience in CPU architecture. You are familiar with programming in C and have a foundational understanding of verification processes in chip design. Your analytical skills enable you to develop effective test plans and environments that ensure the functional correctness of CPU designs.
You are detail-oriented and capable of developing tests in assembly or C, as well as creating coverage monitors to analyze test coverage. Your ability to collaborate with architecture and RTL designers is essential, as you will be working closely with them to verify the design's functionality. You are eager to contribute to innovative projects and are motivated by the impact of your work on millions of customers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the verification of specific areas of functionality within CPU designs. You will collaborate with architecture and RTL designers to ensure that the designs meet functional correctness standards. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test plans and creating test environments tailored to the verification process. You will write tests in assembly, C, or vectors based on the established test plans, ensuring thorough coverage of all test cases.
Additionally, you will develop coverage monitors and analyze coverage data to confirm that all aspects of the design are adequately tested. You will also create checkers and SystemVerilog or C-based transactors to facilitate the verification process. Your contributions will play a critical role in the successful delivery of groundbreaking Apple products, impacting the technology landscape significantly.
