Overview

Apple is hiring a Wireless RF PHY Firmware Engineer to craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring up and wireless connectivity enablement. You'll work closely with product software and manufacturing teams, focusing on RF calibrations and signal processing algorithms. This role requires experience in embedded systems and firmware development.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in embedded firmware development, particularly for wireless systems — your experience includes working with System on a Chip (SoC) architectures and implementing firmware for RF and PHY functionalities. You are proficient in C programming and have a solid understanding of signal processing algorithms, which allows you to contribute effectively to the development of high-performance wireless products.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including RF/Radio design and manufacturing — your communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality firmware solutions that meet productization needs.

What you'll do

As a Wireless RF PHY Firmware Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing embedded firmware for SoC bring up and wireless connectivity enablement — your role will involve developing system-level APIs and firmware functionality to support RF and PHY calibrations. You will collaborate with product software and manufacturing teams to ensure that the firmware meets the necessary requirements for productization.

You will also focus on developing SoC test and calibration capabilities for wafer, module, and system factories — this includes performance tuning and optimization of signal processing algorithms to enhance the overall user experience. Your contributions will have a direct impact on getting functional wireless products to hundreds of millions of customers, making your work highly visible and impactful within the organization.

What we offer

Apple offers a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront — you will have the opportunity to work with a world-class vertically integrated engineering team that is dedicated to transforming user experiences through cutting-edge wireless technologies. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

Join us at Apple and be part of a team that is shaping the future of wireless connectivity — your expertise will play a crucial role in the development of highly energy-efficient designs and new technologies that enhance the user experience at the product level.
