Job Description
Who you are
You have over 10 years of experience in power analysis and optimization, particularly in low power microarchitecture and implementation. Your strong analytical skills enable you to create early power estimations and perform what-if analyses during architectural evaluations. You are proficient in scripting with Python, which you use to develop flows and heuristics for power triage on large datasets.
Your experience with tools like PowerArtist and PTPX allows you to support RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis effectively. You have a keen eye for identifying power reduction opportunities across various GPU workloads, and you are skilled at evaluating and implementing power optimizations in both RTL and gates. You understand the importance of power sign-off tests and are adept at improving power analysis coverage.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to craft elegant solutions to complex challenges. Your passion for technology drives you to stay updated with the latest advancements in GPU development and power efficiency.
Desirable
Experience in product-level power budgeting is a plus, as it complements your technical skills and enhances your ability to contribute to product development.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be integral to the Silicon Technologies group at Apple, focusing on the power activity of GPU development. You will create early power estimations and set power targets, ensuring that our next-generation processors are both high-performance and power-efficient. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you perform what-if analyses during the architectural evaluation stage, helping to guide design decisions.
You will support RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis, working closely with engineers to identify power reduction opportunities across various workloads. Your expertise will also be utilized in evaluating and implementing power optimizations, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of efficiency.
Additionally, you will identify the best power sign-off tests to improve coverage and develop innovative flows and heuristics to accelerate power triage on large datasets. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of Appleβs devices, enabling millions of users to enjoy seamless experiences.
