Who you are
You have a strong analytical background with experience in low power microarchitecture and implementation โ your expertise allows you to create early power estimations and perform what-if analyses at the architectural evaluation stage. You are proficient in scripting with Python, which you use to support various power activities in GPU designs. Your familiarity with tools like PowerArtist and PTPX enables you to conduct thorough power rollup and analysis, ensuring that Appleโs GPUs meet high-performance standards while being power-efficient.
You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, which has equipped you with the skills to analyze GPU workloads and identify power reduction opportunities effectively. Your ability to evaluate and implement power optimizations in both RTL and gates is crucial for enhancing the performance of Appleโs next-generation processors. You are detail-oriented and organized, which helps you identify the best power sign-off tests to improve power analysis coverage.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the power activity of Appleโs GPU development. You will create early power estimations and set power targets, performing what-if analyses to evaluate architectural decisions. Your work will involve supporting RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis, ensuring that the designs meet the required power efficiency standards. You will analyze various GPU workloads to identify opportunities for power reduction, contributing to the overall performance of Appleโs products.
You will also evaluate and implement power optimizations in both RTL and gates, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the optimizations align with design goals. Your role will require you to identify the best power sign-off tests to improve power analysis coverage, which is essential for maintaining the high standards Apple is known for. Additionally, you will develop flows and heuristics to accelerate power triage on large power data sets, streamlining the analysis process and enhancing efficiency.
