Overview

Apple is hiring a Graphics Power Analysis & Optimization Engineer to support GPU development and power optimization efforts. You'll work with Python and tools like PowerArtist and PTPX to analyze and enhance power efficiency in next-generation processors. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong analytical background with experience in low power microarchitecture and implementation — your expertise allows you to create early power estimations and perform what-if analyses during architectural evaluations. You are proficient in scripting with Python, enabling you to develop flows and heuristics that accelerate power triage on large datasets. Your familiarity with tools like PowerArtist and PTPX equips you to support RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis effectively.

With a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, you have a proven track record in analyzing GPU workloads to identify power reduction opportunities. You are detail-oriented and organized, ensuring that you can evaluate and implement power optimizations in both RTL and gates. Your ability to identify the best power sign-off tests enhances power analysis coverage, making you a valuable asset to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, where you will help design and manufacture high-performance, power-efficient processors. You will create early power estimations and set power targets while performing what-if analyses at the architectural evaluation stage. Your responsibilities will include supporting RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis, as well as analyzing various GPU workloads to pinpoint power reduction opportunities.

You will evaluate and implement power optimizations in both RTL and gates, ensuring that Apple products can seamlessly handle complex tasks. Additionally, you will identify the best power sign-off tests to improve power analysis coverage, contributing to the overall efficiency of the development process. Your work will involve developing flows and heuristics to accelerate power triage on large power datasets, making a significant impact on the performance of Apple's devices.

What we offer

Apple is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that fuels the devices loved by millions. The role offers a collaborative environment where you can craft elegant solutions to complex challenges, contributing to the next generation of Apple's processors.
