Hardware Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in CPU implementation methodologies. Your background includes implementing VLSI digital designs using SAPR tools, and you have a strong understanding of logic optimization trade-offs between area and performance. You are skilled in synthesis and physical design implementation methodologies, and you possess excellent problem-solving skills that enable you to analyze and optimize design flows effectively.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with CPU designers, CAD teams, and EDA tool vendors to drive improvements in performance, power, and area (PPA). Your experience includes detailed analysis across partitions to identify optimization opportunities, and you are comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams including STA, library, tech, and post-silicon teams to enhance implementation processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to the development of new methodologies and flows that enhance CPU design initiatives. You will generate and validate innovative ideas, collaborating with various teams to improve design efficiency and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed analyses to identify optimization opportunities and working closely with cross-functional teams to implement improvements during the design process.

You will play a key role in driving CPU design initiatives, ensuring that the methodologies you develop are aligned with the latest industry standards and best practices. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of Apple's CPU designs, making this a critical position within the organization.
