Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of a BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly in CPU architecture. Your background includes both academic and practical experience in chip design verification, allowing you to understand the complexities involved in ensuring functional correctness. You are skilled in developing test plans and environments, and you have a strong grasp of verification methodologies. Your experience with assembly and C programming languages enables you to develop effective tests that meet design specifications. You are familiar with coverage analysis and can develop coverage monitors to ensure comprehensive testing. Additionally, you have experience with SystemVerilog or C-based transactors, which are essential for verifying design functionality.
Desirable
Experience with advanced CPU architectures or specific design verification tools would be a plus. Familiarity with industry-standard verification methodologies and tools can enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with architecture and RTL designers to achieve common goals.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the verification of specific areas of functionality within CPU designs. You will work closely with architecture and RTL designers to verify the functional correctness of the design, ensuring that all specifications are met. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed test plans and creating test environments that facilitate thorough testing. You will develop tests in assembly, C, or vectors according to the established test plans, ensuring that all aspects of the design are rigorously evaluated. You will also develop coverage monitors and analyze coverage data to confirm that all test cases are adequately covered. Furthermore, you will create checkers and SystemVerilog or C-based transactors to support the verification process, contributing to the overall success of the chip design effort.
