Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering and at least 3 years of professional experience in design, development, debugging, and validation of electro-mechanical or robotic systems. Your solid understanding of consumer electronics modules, including transducers and sensors, allows you to contribute effectively to the team. You possess a basic understanding of hardware concepts and electrical engineering fundamentals, such as hardware architecture, control systems, and signal processing. Your programming skills in languages like C, C++, Objective-C, and Python enable you to develop automated instrumentation systems efficiently.

You are self-motivated and self-reliant, capable of working independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment. You have a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation, which drives you to create exceptional products that enhance user experiences. You understand the importance of documentation and communication in engineering processes, ensuring that your work is well-documented and easily understood by your peers.

Desirable

Experience with automated testing systems and familiarity with calibration processes would be advantageous. A background in consumer electronics or related fields will help you navigate the complexities of product development at Apple.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy calibration and test instrumentation systems for Apple's innovative products. You will work closely with multi-functional groups, including design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software, and operations, throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. Your contributions will ensure the success of current and future Apple products, impacting millions of users worldwide.

You will be responsible for developing design specifications, bringing up, validating, and deploying automated instrumentation systems that calibrate and test Apple’s products during NPI and mass production. Collaborating with various teams, you will ensure that the instrumentation systems meet the high standards expected at Apple. Your role will involve troubleshooting and debugging complex systems, requiring a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

You will also participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and address any challenges that arise during the development process. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members from different disciplines will be crucial in driving projects forward and achieving successful outcomes.
