You have a BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering and over 5 years of experience in manufacturing, field quality, or product development — you've honed your skills in quality engineering and understand the intricacies of ensuring product excellence. Your technical systems knowledge related to electronics and mechanical assembly is robust, allowing you to navigate complex challenges effectively.

Your experience includes a broad software knowledge base, particularly in operating systems and testing-related tools — you are comfortable with data analysis and interpretation, and you have a preference for using Tableau and JMP scripting to derive insights from data. Proven experience in Quality Engineering, Reliability, and Failure Analysis is essential, as you will be responsible for maintaining high standards in product quality.

You have a track record of partnering with international contract manufacturers, demonstrating your ability to manage quality across diverse teams and locations — your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and AppleCare teams to enhance customer experiences.

Desirable

An MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering is preferred, as it complements your practical experience and enhances your analytical capabilities. Familiarity with advanced data analysis tools and methodologies will set you apart, as will your ability to interpret complex data sets to inform quality decisions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join the Sustaining Product Quality Engineering team at Apple, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring that customers receive the best possible experience with Apple products. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to address quality issues and implement solutions that enhance product reliability.

Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses of product quality data, identifying trends, and developing strategies to mitigate risks — you will lead initiatives aimed at improving product quality and reliability, ensuring that Apple maintains its reputation for excellence. You will also be involved in failure analysis, working to understand the root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective actions.

You will engage with international contract manufacturers, overseeing quality assurance processes and ensuring compliance with Apple's high standards — your role will require you to travel internationally approximately 20% of the time to facilitate these partnerships. You will be a key player in driving quality improvements across the product lifecycle, from development through to manufacturing and customer support.
