Overview

Apple is hiring a Timing Design Engineer to oversee timing sign-off and develop sign-off flows for SoC design. You'll collaborate closely with RTL designers and the Physical design team. This position requires a BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 years of proven experience in ASIC timing design. Your expertise spans all aspects of SoC design, particularly in timing sign-off and flow development. You have a strong understanding of timing constraints and can innovate solutions to facilitate timing closure. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with RTL designers, CAD teams, and Physical design teams to achieve optimal timing results.

You are detail-oriented and possess a deep understanding of timing analysis, ensuring that you can verify and innovate timing constraints effectively. Your experience has equipped you with the skills to handle both regular and custom timing requirements, ensuring high-quality timing constraints from synthesis to sign-off. You thrive in environments that require close interaction with various engineering teams, and you are adept at developing and refining timing sign-off flows.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of IP and block-level timing constraints, ensuring that all timing requirements are met throughout the design process. You will be responsible for timing sign-off, which includes developing and refining the sign-off flow to achieve the highest quality standards. Your role will involve close collaboration with RTL designers to understand design intent and clock structure, as well as working with the CAD team to develop effective timing analysis flows.

You will innovate and propose new ideas for timing constraints and flows, addressing any potential pessimism or fallouts in timing analysis. Your contributions will be crucial in achieving timing closure and ensuring that the designs meet the required specifications. You will also be expected to verify your own timing constraints and come up with plans to ensure their effectiveness. Your ability to communicate and collaborate with various teams will be essential for the success of the projects you work on.

What we offer

At Apple, you will be part of a diverse team that values innovation and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to products that change lives for the better. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with a supportive work environment that fosters growth and development.
