Who you are
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in timing for designs operating at 1 GHz or higher. Your expertise includes managing multiple clock and power domains, ensuring that you can handle complex timing challenges effectively. You are proficient with static timing tools such as Primetime or Tempus, which are essential for your role in timing analysis and closure. Your background equips you with a deep understanding of derate methodology and cross talk, allowing you to navigate intricate design requirements with ease.
What you'll do
As a CPU Design Timing Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for all aspects of timing closure for CPU projects. This includes collaborating with the CAD team to develop and refine the timing flow used throughout the project. You will engage in scripting to enhance analysis flows and improve engineering efficiency, ensuring that the timing processes are both effective and streamlined. Your role will also involve extensive collaboration with CPU micro-architects and implementation engineers, driving timing closure and ensuring that all design specifications are met.
