Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and at least 3 years of experience in software testing, particularly in infrastructure or systems testing. You possess strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, concepts, and best practices, and you are skilled in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases. Your proficiency in test automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell sets you apart.
You are familiar with infrastructure components like networks, servers, and storage systems, and you have experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Your understanding of version control systems, particularly Git, complements your technical skills. You thrive in agile development environments and are eager to collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance testing processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and develop test plans and test cases for various infrastructure platforms, ensuring quality and reliability through both manual and automated testing. You will create and maintain automated test suites, execute tests, and analyze results to report defects with detailed reproduction steps. Your collaboration with development and operations teams will be crucial in improving testing methodologies and tools.
You will document testing procedures and maintain comprehensive test documentation while monitoring and reporting on test coverage and quality metrics. Implementing Chaos Engineering practices to identify system weaknesses will be part of your responsibilities, as will contributing to the development of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
