Box is hiring a Team Manager for Solutions Engineering to lead the sales engineering team in Japan. This position requires 5+ years of pre-sales experience and expertise in cloud or AI technologies.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of pre-sales experience or have worked as a project manager or IT consultant, providing solutions to enterprises. Your background includes at least 2 years of management experience in a solutions engineering team, where you've successfully led teams to achieve their goals. You are well-versed in cloud, infrastructure, security, SaaS integration, or AI/automation technologies, and you have a proven track record of high-touch proposals to large enterprises and successful collaborations with partners and alliances. Your interpersonal skills and presentation abilities allow you to gain trust from both technical decision-makers and executives. You embody the qualities of being hungry, humble, and smart, demonstrating a strong ownership mentality to solve complex business challenges. You are fluent in Japanese at a native or business level and can communicate effectively in English with global teams.
What you'll do
As the Solutions Engineering Team Manager at Box's Tokyo office, you will lead and mentor the sales engineering (SE) team, driving Box's growth in the Japanese market. You will serve as a crucial bridge connecting customers, partners, and the HQ engineering team, working closely with the sales director to build a long-term vision for customer digital transformation. You will influence strategic account planning in collaboration with sales leadership, driving technical wins that contribute to team goals. Your role will involve optimizing core sales engineering processes, including discovery, technical qualification assessments, and proof of concept (PoC) execution. You will design complex business solutions, including value propositions that leverage AI, and present these to prospective clients. Additionally, you will provide critical feedback and feature requests to product management and engineering teams to reflect the needs of the Japanese market. You will establish Box's presence as a thought leader in ICM and AI at regional conferences, forums, and seminars. Collaboration will be key as you work cross-functionally with sales, Box consulting, and customer success management teams to ensure successful product implementations and long-term customer success.
