Checkr is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead the Product & Privacy legal team. You'll provide strategic legal guidance across Checkr’s products and privacy frameworks. This role requires extensive experience in legal counsel and compliance.

Who you are
You have a strong background in legal counsel, particularly in product and privacy law, with at least 7-10 years of experience in a similar role. You possess a deep understanding of compliance frameworks and have successfully navigated complex legal landscapes in technology-driven environments. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Sales, sets you apart. You are proactive and sales-forward, ensuring that legal considerations enhance business growth rather than hinder it. You thrive in fast-paced settings and are adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strategic focus. You are committed to fostering a culture of compliance and ethical decision-making within the organization.
What you'll do
In this role, you will define and execute the vision for the Product & Privacy legal function, ensuring that it serves as a strategic business driver. You will provide high-impact legal counsel on Checkr’s diverse product offerings, including Checkr Workforce, Checkr Trust, and Checkr Personal. Your responsibilities will include advising on privacy frameworks and AI initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will collaborate closely with leadership and various departments to align legal strategies with business objectives. You will also play a key role in shaping the legal team's strategic vision and elevating its impact across the organization. As a senior leader, you will mentor junior legal staff and contribute to their professional development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing legal team.
