Who you are

You have a strong background in site reliability engineering with a focus on security and compliance — your experience includes managing large-scale systems and ensuring their reliability and security in a cloud environment. You are proficient in AWS and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your expertise in Linux systems allows you to troubleshoot and optimize performance effectively.

You possess strong programming skills, particularly in Python, which you use to automate processes and improve system efficiency. Your understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements enables you to implement robust security measures across the infrastructure. You thrive in a remote-first environment and are comfortable collaborating with teams across different time zones.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of CoinGecko's cryptocurrency data platform. You will design and implement monitoring solutions to ensure system health and performance, responding to incidents and outages promptly. Your work will involve collaborating with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will also lead initiatives to enhance the security posture of the platform, conducting regular security assessments and audits. Your role will require you to document processes and create runbooks for incident response, ensuring that the team is prepared for any challenges that may arise. You will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of reliability and security within the team.
