Overview

Confluera is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer to collaborate with sales teams and partners on pre-sales technical activities. You'll work with endpoint and network security technologies and require strong communication skills. This role is based in the Great Lakes region.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in endpoint or network security, with experience in technologies such as AV, EDR, incident response, forensics, SIEM, and firewalls. Your understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems allows you to articulate complex security problems to diverse audiences effectively.

With over 5 years of relevant work experience, you have a proven track record in sales engineering, showcasing your ability to work independently while also collaborating with sales, marketing, support, and engineering teams. You are a strong communicator, capable of bridging the technical gap between Confluera and its prospects or customers.

You are a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, and you are comfortable training distributors and partners to ensure successful deployments of Proof of Value (POV) evaluations. Your experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash enhances your technical capabilities.

You have familiarity with large-scale cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, which allows you to provide valuable insights during technical discussions. Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, OSCP, or SANS are a plus, demonstrating your commitment to professional development in the cybersecurity field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate closely with sales teams and partners, engaging in high-touch pre-sales technical activities. Your primary responsibility will be to technically qualify opportunities and assist in the evaluation of Proof of Value (POV) with end-user accounts and partners. You will help drive end-user acceptance and conversion of POVs into revenue, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.

You will also train distributors and partners, equipping them with the knowledge to deploy successful POVs and assist them with Security Assessment Reports. Acting as a liaison between partners/customers and corporate headquarters, you will address technical issues and requirements, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the solutions provided.

Monitoring and assessing the competitive landscape and market developments in the region will be part of your ongoing responsibilities. You will work closely with the Corporate PM and Engineering teams to capture the latest product information, which will be utilized for Assessment Reports and shared with end-users.

In conjunction with sales teams, you will aim to exceed assigned quarterly revenue targets, leveraging your technical expertise to support sales efforts. Your role will also involve contributing to marketing activities as appropriate, ensuring that the technical aspects of the product are well represented in promotional materials.
