Who you are
You have a strong background in sales engineering, with experience in providing technical expertise during the sales process. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively is one of your key strengths. You are passionate about educating customers on observability risks that are meaningful to their business, and you can build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer. You thrive in a collaborative environment and understand the importance of teamwork in achieving sales goals.
You possess strong written and oral communication skills, allowing you to deliver product and technical briefings to potential clients confidently. Your technical knowledge enables you to engage with customers effectively, addressing any issues or concerns they may have during the trial phase. You are proactive in gathering customer feedback and communicating it to the product team to help prioritize features based on input from customers, competitors, and partners.
Desirable
Experience with Datadog's products or similar observability tools is a plus. Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining accurate notes regarding customer interactions will help you succeed in this role. You are someone who enjoys building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer success.
What you'll do
As a Senior Sales Engineer at Datadog, you will partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers. You will own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, ensuring they understand the value of Datadog's offerings. Your role will involve communicating Datadogβs value based on activities and working with customers on any identified issues or concerns to reach a successful conclusion.
You will technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility. Delivering product and technical briefings and presentations to potential clients will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will maintain accurate notes and feedback in the CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses, to help refine the sales process and improve customer engagement.
Proactively engaging and communicating with customers and Datadog's business and technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape will be essential. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer needs are met and that their feedback is incorporated into product development.
