Confluera is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer to collaborate with sales teams and partners on pre-sales technical activities. You'll work with endpoint and network security technologies, requiring strong communication skills and a background in sales engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in sales engineering, particularly in the endpoint or network security space. Your expertise includes technologies such as AV, EDR, incident response, forensics, SIEM, and firewalls. You possess a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems, allowing you to articulate complex security problems to diverse audiences effectively.

You are a strong communicator and a collaborative team player, capable of working independently while also bridging the gap between Confluera and its prospects or customers. Your ability to train distributors and partners ensures successful deployments of Proof of Value (POV) evaluations, and you are adept at helping drive end-user acceptance and conversion to revenue.

Your technical acumen is complemented by your experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash, as well as familiarity with large-scale cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. You may also hold certifications such as CEH, CISSP, OSCP, or SANS, which further validate your expertise in the field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate closely with sales teams and partners to engage in high-touch pre-sales technical activities. Your responsibilities will include technically qualifying opportunities and conducting POV evaluations with end-user accounts and partners. You will also assist in training distributor and partner sales engineers, ensuring they are equipped to deploy successful POVs and provide Security Assessment Reports.

You will work alongside Corporate Product Management and Engineering teams to capture the latest product information, which will be utilized for Assessment Reports and shared with end-users. As a liaison between partners and corporate headquarters, you will address technical issues and requirements, ensuring smooth communication and resolution.

Your goal will be to achieve and exceed assigned quarterly revenue targets in conjunction with the sales teams. You will continuously monitor and assess the competitive landscape and market developments in your region, providing insights that can inform marketing activities as appropriate. Your role is crucial in driving the technical aspects of sales and ensuring that Confluera's solutions meet the needs of its customers.
