You'll negotiate various legal agreements and ensure compliance with data privacy and information security regulations. This role requires 4+ years of relevant legal experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a qualified Attorney with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant commercial legal transactional experience, particularly in the Latin America (LatAM) region. Your expertise includes negotiating complex SaaS commercial transactions and providing counsel on legal issues related to data privacy, information security, and intellectual property, including open source software. You have a strong understanding of the legal landscape in LatAM and are adept at navigating the complexities of commercial agreements.

You possess meaningful experience in negotiating Master Cloud Services Agreements (MCSA), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Statements of Work (SOWs). Your ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, product, and compliance, allows you to drive revenue-generating transactions while effectively mitigating risks. You are solutions-oriented and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Desirable

Experience with artificial intelligence terms and regulations is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities present in the LatAM market. You are proactive in maintaining and updating legal agreements to ensure they align with internal policies and support rapid revenue growth while maintaining long-term stability for the company.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be the first attorney hired to provide direct legal support to Databricks' growing commercial business in the LatAM region. You will negotiate, draft, and close MCSAs with LatAM prospects and customers, ensuring compliance with data privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include partnering with cross-functional teams locally and at headquarters to drive transactions that generate revenue while mitigating risks.

You will help maintain and update legal agreements, ensuring that terms and internal policies are positioned to continue enabling rapid revenue growth. Your role will involve serving as a solutions-oriented legal business partner, providing guidance on legal issues that arise in the course of business operations. You will also be responsible for staying informed about changes in the legal landscape that may impact the company's operations in the region.

What we offer

Databricks offers a hybrid work environment, allowing you to balance in-office and remote work. You will be part of a dynamic and growing commercial legal team, where your contributions will have a direct impact on the company's success in the Latin America region. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in shaping the future of data and AI while ensuring compliance and legal integrity.
