Who you are
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable production systems that serve millions of users. Your expertise in designing and implementing robust software solutions has equipped you with the skills to handle complex challenges in a collaborative environment. You thrive in cross-functional teams, working closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to understand user needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
You possess deep knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, and Rust, and have experience with database technologies like MySQL. Your ability to contribute to full-stack projects allows you to deliver minimum viable products efficiently while ensuring high technical quality. You are also familiar with agile methodologies and have a track record of developing and executing roadmaps that balance business impact with user experience.
You are passionate about mentoring and contributing to team culture, actively participating in interviews and new initiatives. Your contributions to open-source projects or technical communities demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Desirable
Experience with cloud-based solutions and familiarity with the latest technologies in the software development landscape would be a plus. You are open to exploring new tools and frameworks that can enhance your team's productivity and the quality of the products you deliver.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable software solutions that enhance the sharing experience across Dropbox's File Sync and Share surfaces. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to understand user needs and develop products that meet those needs effectively. Your role will involve developing and executing both short and long-term roadmaps, balancing business impact, user experience, and technical quality.
You will actively contribute to the team culture through mentorship and participation in various initiatives, ensuring that your team remains engaged and motivated. Your ability to handle full-stack projects will be crucial as you work to deliver minimum viable products efficiently. You will also be involved in engineering planning and technical design for multiple sharing initiatives, aiming to simplify the sender and receiver sharing experience and drive long-term engagement across platforms.
