Platform Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, and expertise in virtualization or containerization platforms. You are skilled in engaging with technical stakeholders and presenting to executive leaders, ensuring that you can effectively communicate complex technical concepts. Your experience also encompasses programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, and conducting customer workshops.

You have a strong understanding of security concepts, including encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and penetration testing. You are adept at selling technical solutions in areas such as Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Data Management, Data Analytics, Cloud AI, Networking, Migrations, and Security. You have a proven track record of driving the entire business cycle, from defining delivery plans to transitioning them for execution.

What you'll do

In this role, you will facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products by educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses. You will listen to customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance productivity, mobility, and collaboration. Your responsibilities will include problem-solving key technical issues for customers and collaborating with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay informed about product developments. You will lead technical engagements during the solution phase and support the post-sales transition by assisting with pricing activities and ensuring a smooth handover to implementation teams.

You will maintain awareness of progress against delivery plans and provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp-up, delivery, migration, or implementation phases. Your role will be crucial in building long-term technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers, ensuring that their needs are met effectively and efficiently.
