Google is hiring a Senior Power Engineer to design and build systems for their data centers. You'll work with power converter design and power electronics fundamentals. This position requires 4 years of experience in power systems.

Who you are

You hold a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and you have a minimum of 4 years of experience working with power converter design, including DC/DC converter design and board bring-up and debugging. Your background includes knowledge of power electronics fundamentals and various power conversion designs for data center power delivery. You also have experience in power system design and analyzing and organizing data, which allows you to effectively troubleshoot complex system-level power issues.

You may also have a Masterโ€™s degree or PhD in a relevant field, along with at least 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Your expertise in power converter modeling and simulation positions you as a key contributor to innovative projects. You are comfortable engaging cross-functionally to ensure successful roll-out, testing, and complete validation of new technologies.

What you'll do

As a Senior Power Engineer at Google, you will be part of the Platforms Team, responsible for designing and building the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. You will manage projects across multiple areas, leveraging your expertise to lead the evaluation and adoption of compelling technologies in partnership with industry leaders. Your role will involve monitoring the performance of vendors working on projects and providing technical leadership and direction.

You will engage in the development of one of the world's fastest-growing computing infrastructures, working from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design, and seeing those systems through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work will have a significant impact on the machinery that goes into Googleโ€™s data centers, affecting millions of users worldwide. You will lead projects that involve new technologies or innovative uses of existing technologies, ensuring that trade-offs are effectively managed.
