Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 3 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs. Your background includes triaging technical issues and software development, which has equipped you with the skills to create content for technical audiences, such as developer documentation and industry white papers. You are proficient in writing, reading, and debugging code in languages like Java, C, C++, Python, or Go, and you have experience with network troubleshooting tools, including tracerouter and tcpdump. Your familiarity with public cloud services, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is a significant asset.

You possess knowledge of the financial exchange industry and understand the terminology and concepts associated with it. Your experience extends to working with distributed systems and solutions, design patterns, or best practices. You are adept at packet capture and analysis, artificial packet creation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to troubleshoot network latency and packet loss. Your understanding of networking protocols supporting ultra-low latency systems is crucial for this role.

You have experience in crisis response or escalation management across multiple teams, demonstrating your ability to influence the momentum of incident response for critical customer issues. Your knowledge of basic web technologies and networking fundamentals further enhances your capability to support customers effectively.

What you'll do

As a Solutions Engineer at Google, you will be part of the Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team, guiding customers through critical moments in their cloud journey. Your role will involve understanding customer issues and advocating for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Development teams, to find ways to improve the product and drive production success. You will ensure 24-hour customer support, which may require you to work non-standard hours or shifts, including weekends.

You will troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions that meet customer needs, leveraging your technical expertise to advocate for improvements in Google Cloud products. Your ability to communicate effectively with technical audiences will be essential as you create content that helps customers understand complex concepts and solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer challenges and enhance their experience with Google Cloud. You will be responsible for analyzing customer feedback and technical issues to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring that the solutions provided are effective and aligned with customer expectations.

Your contributions will directly impact the success of Google Cloud services for financial exchanges, and you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
